One of Joburg's hippest neighbourhoods, Braamfontein shows off a vibrant cross section of African culture and creativity and is also home to the famous local produce market, Neighbourgoods.
The Neighbourgoods Market takes place every Saturday and offers a wide range of local artisanal food, beverages and design and has been instrumental in the reinvention of the Braamfontein area.
Braamfontein has an abundance of public art and is part of Johannesburg's greater goal of becoming the largest open-air art gallery in the world by 2040. There are 300 works in and around the city already.
70 Juta lies in the heart of Braamfontein's cultural and urban renewal. It houses small, niche stores specialising in local design, music, food and art.
